This Silver Tone and Gold Tone style crucifix first appeared in the 5th century, and from the 9th century on medieval artists increasingly aimed at a realistic portrayal of Christ's suffering. This two-tone Tomaso brand wood crucifix is styled from the original crucifix given by the people of Loretto, Italy, to Pope Pius XII. Pewter and gold-tone corpus. Gift boxed.
