A St. Agnes medal or pendant will always be a reminder of this saints heroic life and her devotion to Christ. St. Agnes was born into a wealthy Christian family in the time when Christians were being prosecuted by the Roman emperor Diocletain. She was a beautiful girl of only thirteen when she was brought to court for not accepting the proposals of Roman men. Instead she held onto her desire to save herself only for Christ. She was punished by being sent to a house of prostitution and put to death in Rome by sword and on her place of death a Shrine was built. St. Agnes is the patron saint of girls, rape victims, virgins, chastity, crops and gardeners.
