Saint Mark, was one of the four Gospel writers and was converted to the faith by St. Peter. After Christ's resurrection, it is said that he wrote his Gospel in Italy as the request of the Romans. St. Peter sent Mark to Alexandria and appointed him bishop of that city, where he performed many miracles and converted many pagans.

St Mark is the patron saint of Attorneys, Barristers, Captives and Notaries. His feast day is April 25.
