This beautiful Plus Size First Communion Dress was designed with the perfect complement of ornate meets simple elegance. The sleeveless Satin bodice has a neckline outlined with pearl beading and heavy all over beaded appliques that cover the waistline beautifully. The plain tea length Tulle skirt features a dainty band at the hemline. The scoop back dress is outlined with matching beaded appliques and adorned with a stunning pre-tied bow at the lower back. These are fitted dresses tailored to an individual size chart which may differ from the regular sizes of dresses normally worn. If you take her measurements using our Size Advice tab and compare with the size chart on the Size Chart tab for this dress you won't go wrong.

Dress length is measured from the top of the dress (top of the shoulder) to the bottom of the hem.
Our single most important piece of advice for anyone shopping for a First Communion Dress is to take the child’s measurements. With three simple measurements for Bust, Waist, and Length you’ll be able to select the correct size without worry. Always compare the child’s measurements to the dress size chart as it is common for each dress to have unique measurements.
Please don’t assume that because your child wears a size 8 in clothing that she will automatically be a size 8 in her communion dress. ALWAYS reference the size chart as some dresses run small and others are cut with generous proportions. The size chart measurements provided are for the finished garment. When measuring, please use a sewing or soft tape measure, not a metal retractable tape measure.
To measure the BUST take a tape measure and wrap it around the entire body where the child’s chest is, just under the armpits at the widest section of the chest. Hold the tape measure loosely and write down the measurement.
To measure the WAIST take the tape measure and wrap it around the entire body where the child’s mid-section is, just above the belly button. Hold the tape measure loosely and write down the measurement.
The length of a dress is measured from the shoulder to the end of the hemline. To measure where the hemline will fall on your child take the tape measure and start at the top of the shoulder. Run the tape measure down to end of the given size chart measurement. This will provide you with a guide for where the hem of the dress will fall on your child.
First Communion Dresses come in a variety of lengths including knee length, tea length (between the knee and ankle) and floor length. Your child’s height will determine where the hemline actually falls so knowing the length of the dress is important.
Keep in mind that it may be necessary to hem the Communion Dress if you think it is too long. NOTE: if the hem of the dress has beading or embroidery, shortening the dress may not be possible.

Yes it’s a beautiful dress but the way it’s made and my daughter size it did not fit so I’m having It altered to her size. I would suggest put some elastic material In the dress for it to be a real plus size dress thank you.

The customer service at the Catholic Faith Store if excellent. I had difficulty finding a dress locally due to the size i needed. I found the Catholic Faith strore online. The dress i ordered turned out to be on back order. I was notified by phone, not email. The staff at Catholic Faith called me to talk about the timing of arrival or discuss purchasing another dress. Most other businesses would send an email and be done with it. The sales person went the extra mile in helping me look at other dresses available in the size i needed and with to talk about the fit of the dress. This lovely communion dress is acting as a prom dress for my 20 year old autistic daughter. Prom dresses today are way too sexy. In this dress she feels like a princess but the dress reflects the innocence of her child-like mind. The dress bodice is full of appliques that reflect the colors of the rainbow. The skirt is full and tea length with a tulle kind of fabric overlap. The workman ship is exquisite. I did have to have a local seamstress let out the waist a touch, as my daughter has big hips. We ordered a plus size 20 and she usually wears her clothes in size 14/16. This is a VERY fitted dress. I was very glad I found this site. The customer service is phenominal. Bottom line - it's her once in a life-time day. She twirls in the living room when she puts this dress on, and that's what matters most.
