Saint Lillian was born in Cordoba, Spain in the mid-ninth century during the reign of the Moors and was married to Saint Felix. Saint Lillian and her husband were devoutly Catholic, but were forced to practice in secret due to persecution of the Moors. They did, however, step into the public eye and were forced to renounce their faith and convert to Islam. They both refused and were sentenced to die as martyrs.
Saint Lillian is the patron saint of all named Lillian, Lily or other variations on the name. This medal features a striking image of Saint Lillian with the words 'SAINT LILLIAN PRAY FOR US' inscribed around the edge.
