A Saint Nimatullah rosary is indeed special! Nimatullah is one of only three canonized Lebanese saints, and we would all do well to model our lives after his devotion to our Creator! This medal may also remind us to pray for our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters in the Middle East.
Eastern Catholics revere their fellow Maronite, a monk named Nimatullah. Pope John Paul II, at Nimatullah's Solemn canonization Liturgy, declared that the saint gave himself totally to God, "in a life of great sacrifice, showing that the love of God is the only true source of joy and happiness for mankind". He spent endless hours kneeling in front of the Blessed Sacrament and lived a life of difficult penance and piety. The Lord worked many miracles through Nimatullah during his life, and he was known for generosity in his patience with others and for radiating the Gospel with his very being.
Nimatullah is the patron saint of Beirut, Lebanon. His feast day is December 14.
