Truly one of our most beloved modern saints, Mother Teresa continues to inspire us to selfless service in the name of Jesus. A Saint Mother Teresa rosary bearing her lines is a daily prayerful reminder to see Jesus in each person we meet.
Mother Teresa, as most know this saint, left her native Albania as a young woman to enter formation as a nun in Dublin. Later, she moved to India to teach young women, but while on a train, heard the voice of the Lord telling her to "follow Christ into the slums to serve him among the poorest of the poor." She did so faithfully and energetically until her death in 1997. The diminutive nun truly saw Christ in every person she served: drug addicts, lepers, homeless, orphans, the elderly. Her example of sacrifice and obedience to God, even in the midst of decades-long spiritual darkness, demonstrates that submission to the will of God is the highest calling.
St. Teresa of Calcutta's feast day is September 5, and she is the patroness of World Youth Day.
