Why would a Saint George rosary be appropriate? Well, did you know that St. George is the patron saint of the Boy Scouts? That may not be such a surprise as this saint has been known for centuries for his willingness to help the community and his generosity. Saint George, as legend holds, bravely killed a dragon that was terrorizing a local village. He was a brave night and Christian who converted many to the faith after his courageous act. As a reward for killing the dragon, George was awarded a large sum of money which he donated to the poor. As a defender of the faith and of his community, this knight soon became a saint. His memorial day is April 23rd. He is the patron saint of England (and many other cities and countries), of the Boy Scouts, against skin disease, of chivalry, knights, and soldiers.
