Saint Eugene Medals

Saint Eugene de Mazenod is best known for starting the Oblates of Mary Immaculate whose missionary works spread Catholicism on five continents.

He was born in France during the French revolution whereafter there was a great anti-Church sentiment. That did not stop Eugene from becoming a priest and serving the poorest of the poor.

Soon his work and his pious nature attracted others to join him and together they formed a new religious community.

He was named Bishop of Marseille and is credited for building churches, founding new parishes, caring for priests and developing religious instructions for Catholic youth throughout the world.

His feast day is May 21st. He is the patron saint of dysfunctional families.
